MER Clinic: Scratch Building a Blast Furnace

The fifth of a series of clinics on steel mills: The start of my Blast Furnace Education and Scratch Building with the help and knowledge from Michael Rabbitt . 2 years in the making, I’ve learned a great deal about the Steel Industry and my model expand with so much realism and detail. This is a never ending project, but very rewarding and enjoying every minute. Today I was able to share my Trials and Errors to others interested Steel Mill Modeling. (This Model turned out to be The Highlight of My Railroad). The Clinic, with help of a 58 Process Slide Presentation and Display Model, provides simple building techniques and construction process start to finish using pictures, miscellaneous materials found around home and local hardware stores. This is a full scale HO furnace. No selective compression. Stoves, gas washers, cast house, etc., were built full HO scale.
